About This Spot

Stepping into All Bengal, you’re met with an unpretentious and warmly familiar setting where the rich flavors of Bangladesh come quietly alive. This casual local eatery occupies a humble space on Bellaire Boulevard, yet it invites you to slow down and savor moments that feel both comforting and deeply rooted in tradition. The air carries the gentle, familiar scents of mustard seeds sizzling and spices melding, setting the mood for an experience that’s more about connection and honest flavors than polished presentation.

The pace here is easygoing — a place where families and longtime Houston residents gather to enjoy authentic Bangladeshi meals that recall home-cooked warmth. The atmosphere buzzes softly with the presence of locals who know this kitchen as a reliable refuge for nostalgic tastes, from subtly spiced fish preparations to rich, soulful curries. It’s a setting where conversations glide into shared plates, where each bite encourages you to pause and appreciate the layers behind every simple, hearty dish.

All Bengal’s menu reads like a journey through regional favorites, where the sweetness of fresh misti and the satisfying crunch of snacks like fuchka and dal puri complement the deeply comforting heartiness of biryani and slow-cooked meat dishes. The experience is unpretentious but deeply sincere—offering a window into Bangladeshi culinary culture that holds steady over time and place. It’s the kind of spot where even the subtle differences between Bengali and other South Asian cuisines reveal themselves naturally in the tastes, textures, and touches of hand-spiced nostalgia.

While the walls reflect a straightforward approach, and the rhythm of service carries a homey authenticity, it’s clear this is a place fueled by pride in genuine flavor more than style. Kind and knowledgeable staff often enhance the visit with their quiet warmth, making newcomers feel immediately welcomed and long-time guests feel right at home. For those seeking a real connection to Bangladeshi food traditions amid Houston’s sprawling scene, All Bengal offers a quietly meaningful discovery.

Best authentic Bengali food (Bangladeshi food) place. If you are in Texas and specially in Houston obviously try food from this place. I took Rui macher jhol and beef curry, the mach was 10 out of 10. Later we took misty doi(sweet yogurt), it was also really good and tasty. People sometimes confuse Indian food and Bengali food but trust there are differences and for tasting different cuisine you should visit this place.

Let’s address the elephant in the room first—cleanliness. A few air fresheners could work wonders, and the restroom could definitely use some serious odor control. That said, expecting a spotless, top-notch Bangladeshi (Deshi) food store is almost an oxymoron—Deshi cooking is gloriously messy, and keeping everything pristine is no easy task. Now, onto the good stuff: the food. It’s genuinely authentic and delicious. I’ve been coming here since 2009 whenever I visit Houston, and the flavors remain true to their roots. The plain rice with daal and Ruhu fish was excellent. The Hilsha fish leaned a bit on the salty side and could use some tweaking, but it was still enjoyable. The sweets deserve special mention—very tasty and reasonably priced. Overall, it’s a satisfying experience if you’re craving authentic Deshi food without emptying your wallet. My humble suggestion to the owner: keeping the place smelling fresh would elevate the entire experience—though I suspect this advice may once again fall on deaf ears.

All Bengal Store is absolutely amazing! I had a fantastic experience shopping here. The quality of the products is top-notch, everything is authentic, fresh, and exactly what you expect from a true Bengali store. They have a great variety of items that are otherwise hard to find in the US, and the prices are very reasonable too. The staff is extremely polite, helpful, and knowledgeable. They make sure you get what you need and provide excellent customer service every time. Delivery/checkout is smooth, and the overall shopping experience is just perfect. Highly recommended for anyone looking for genuine Bengali groceries and a wonderful shopping experience. I will definitely keep coming back!

Pure Bangladeshi food. Yummy. Loved the taste. I think it's very popular. For Pooja celebration it was completely full today. Can accommodate 55 people and nearly it was full. Various Bangladeshi menu items. We tried ilish with sorshe bata, daal and chicken curry with rice. Fresh and hot. Nothing fancy about inner decoration but it was clean. Good customer service. Mr Shojeeb brother, the owner was helpful and good to talk to. Above all the sweet is awesome. Not very sweet but perfect. Sondesh was so Yummy. Fresh and soft. Pure gurer shondesh. People were buying in pounds and taking home. Must visit for food if you are in Houston. Very happy. Will go again.
